Reviled and blamed by many of our compatriots, even though they haven't been on vacation at our seaside for years, the seaside can also surprise you with its beauty. You may say that I am subjective, especially since I breathe the sea breeze 24 hours a day, but I take this for granted!
Sunset in Mamaia and not in Greece
Last night, with a few friends, I went to an event organized by Adi Hădean, at the restaurant he took over for two summer seasons. Located in the Mamaia resort , on the shores of Lake Siutghiol, the restaurant benefits from a spectacular view, especially at sunset, hence the name of the restaurant.
For such events, you have at your disposal two main menus pre-set by Adi Hădean. Being five of us, we decided to make a mix of menus so that we could taste all the dishes, which I recommend to you too.
I gave a ten to the beef menu, cooked medium rare and prepared right in front of us by Adi Hădean.
But the spectacular sunset will also remain imprinted on your retina.
The only dish that I think could be improved was the dessert. Here's what our menu looked like in three photos.
The new summer kitchen overlooking the sea
Also on my list of recommended places is the New Summer Kitchen , opened by Alex Petricean at Olimp.
Arranged around the pool at Casa de Mare, the few tables are prepared for tourists/locals who want to discover the true taste of the Black Sea, seasoned with the mastery of a chef passionate about Romanian cuisine. Here are just two examples of dishes that combine the richness of the Black Sea with traditional products from Dobrogea.
Alex will be cooking until the beginning of October at the New Summer Kitchen and it would be a shame not to enjoy a spectacular evening with delicious food and such a view.
