I spent four nights on a city break in Prague and it was exactly the ingredient I needed to detach myself from the summer vibe in Constanța . I don't really write about the places I wander through, maybe only if my friend Adi asks me for funkytravel.ro , but this time the experience was too cool not to share.
Almost all of my vacations are done on the fly, I don't like agencies taking care of my schedule (actually, I don't like anyone taking care of my schedule). So in June, when I was on retreat, I found a low cost flight offer to Prague, I asked a friend if she wanted to go out and that was it. Without thinking about it too much, the panic called Covid would surely appear and we would change our minds.
If you burn a bohemian through Constanta and you haven't been to Prague and its surroundings, I suggest you do it, to redefine your bohemia 🙂 Like any higher state, it's hard to describe in words... But it doesn't mean for sure what has reached us. It is rather a culture based on smiles, respect for people, attention to details, impeccable service, impeccable cleanliness. An area where bohemianism is defined as raising the vibration of one's fellow man through one's own zen, if you will.
The feeling that you are in a story and that you are entering the role of a character is the one that prevails from the moment you get off the subway. The cool part is that you decide your role. We decided to be witches, because we were standing next to a brilliant gothic cathedral that made me think of Angelina Jolie in Maleficent 🙂
Plus that's what we're doing at home too, so it was somehow handy :))
I can tell you about the tourist attractions in Prague, but you will find them all over the net. Plus if you're like us, you'll finish them in two days, after which the size of the city becomes wickedly frustrating. So we also focused a lot on the culinary side.
I've told you before here that I have a love affair with food 🙂
I'm not going to tell you about the local food, because I have no idea what it's like! The Czechs are based on meat, and we, two vegetarians, enter specific restaurants for nothing. Instead, we started exploring niche restaurants (Asian, Indian, vegetarian) and were sooooo excited about what we found there. Same attention to detail, respect for customers, respected recipes as in the manual, absolutely superb. And sweets... culinary orgasm ❤
