Los Angeles, California, local time 11.38. Although it has been eight days since we set out on this journey, we are still not comfortable with the time zone. We take advantage of the sun and light as much as we can to visit various sights, but when night comes we wake up with a new portion of energy mixed with the feeling of excessive fatigue.

The second part of the vacation in the United States of America was planned in the famous resort/locality Palm Springs, the place where almost all Hollywood stars have vacation homes (for example, you can rent Leonardo DiCaprio's villa for $4500/night). If you can afford it, HERE is a description of the home and a presentation photo.

We arrived two weeks before the official opening of the tourist season. If I were to draw a parallel with the Romanian seaside , I can say that we booked through the “Palm Springs for everyone” program 😊 As soon as we got out of the car, the 38 degrees Celsius, recorded at 5:30 PM, hit us in the head. You can hardly accommodate yourself to such an outdoor temperature, and it's even worse when you go inside. An unwritten rule, respected by both hoteliers and those who own shops, establishes that the optimal temperature is 16 degrees inside. Imagine the thermal shock! So we decided to abandon our luggage in the room and went to visit the famous Palm Springs resort. The UBER to the center cost us $ 9, and when we arrived everything we imagined we would discover in the rich resort evaporated. An almost empty city, with only a few open terraces, one with a live band where an artist of Mexican origin was trying to play songs we heard at the Golden Deer. Palm Springs is considered the most LGBT-friendly city, and this is easily seen on any street.

If you come to this city, I recommend you reserve at least two hours at one of the most famous art museums in California. The Palm Springs Art Museum welcomes you with an open-air gallery that will convince you to pay the $14 for a ticket.

And also in Palm Springs you can go to the Joshua Tree National Park . Unfortunately we were unable to accommodate ourselves to the over 47 degrees Celsius felt in the sun and decided to settle for a photo at the entrance to the desert. Although the reserve is open all year round, locals recommend that you enter the desert only in the winter months because the temperatures drop to 30-35 degrees Celsius.

And now let's admit that we chose to stay in Palm Springs for another reason. The resort is only 40 minutes away from one of the largest and cheapest shopping centers with famous brands. Cabazon Outlets is built on Native American land, and the lack of taxes is reflected in the prices you will find. Although we left a whole day for this visit, I tell you that it was not enough.

The trip continued with a spectacular getaway to San Diego and downtown Los Angeles, but for now you can only enjoy photos from these places HERE.

I have been working in the media for more than 20 years. I started at TV Neptun, and for 18 years I worked at Pro TV. Every year, I try to see what good things have been done on the coast, what needs to be corrected and if there are models that we can follow.
