One of the most discussed figures announced at the end of the season was the estimate of 400 million euros generated in the economy of Constanța County.
Selly explains in the podcast that the estimate is based on a cumulative traffic of 2,6 million "person-days", not unique visitors. The calculation would include daily expenses for accommodation, beach, food and transport, as well as consumption in local businesses. It is an economic estimate by the NIBIRU team, not a value resulting from an independent audit presented in the episode. However, there is an effect that was also seen beyond the project's gates: August did not suddenly end on the 15th, and tourists continued to come until the end of the season.
Răzvan Dobre, manager of Nyota Hotel Mamaia and co-host of the podcast, talks about the constant demand for tickets offered to tourists through the partnership between NIBIRU and hotels. In his experience, the events contributed to extending the period in which there were reservations on the seaside.
And this could be the most important gain: people who didn't come to the beach just for the sea, but because they had something concrete to do after they got off the beach.
