The Mamaia – Constanța Destination Management Organization participated, between September 26–27, 2026, at the Diplomatic Bazaar – Romanian Autumn Salon , held at Château de Huldenberg, in Belgium. The first edition of the Romanian Autumn Salon was dedicated to Dobrogea, with the theme “ Dobrogea & Pontus Euxinus – Myth, Nature & Art de Vivre ”. The event brought together diplomats, representatives of cultural and tourist institutions, artists, researchers and members of the Romanian community in Belgium.
The presence of OMD Mamaia–Constanța at the event aimed at the international promotion of the destination through the elements that define its identity: the history of the coastline, the cultural heritage, the tradition of spa tourism, the multiculturalism of Dobrogea and the relationship built over several generations between the city, the resort and the Black Sea.
"We came to Brussels with a story about Mamaia and Constanța built from heritage, history and the sea. For us, it is important that international promotion has content and identity, and the "Healing Sea" project expresses this direction very well. We supported the publication of the volume because the investment in the memory of the destination is, at the same time, an investment in the way it will be known and understood in the future. The fact that we can take this story among the Romanian community in Belgium in a diplomatic and cultural event, to the European public, gives the project a dimension that we wanted from the beginning" , declared George Măndilă - President, OMD Mamaia Constanța.
On Tuesday, September 29, the volume " The Sea That Heals. The Romanian Coast , from Mamaia to Mangalia" , signed by Aurelia Lăpușan and Anca Elena Ștefan, also arrived at the European Parliament. After its launch in August in Mamaia, the book thus arrived in Brussels, in a context that highlighted both its cultural dimension and its role as a tool for promoting the heritage of the Romanian coastline.
The event at Château de Huldenberg was built around the identity of Dobrogea and the region's heritage. Under the theme " Culture Bridges People ", the Romanian Autumn Salon brought together cultural, historical, artistic and tourist initiatives, offering the public a perspective on the diversity of the space between the Danube and the Black Sea.
The concept and program of the event were developed under the coordination of curator Emilia Mohan , who brought together representatives of diplomacy, culture, heritage, tourism, and Romanian and ethnic communities, in a project designed to present Dobrogea to the European public through history, art, nature, and art de vivre.
The salon was hosted at the Château de Huldenberg, under the high patronage of the Count of Limburg-Stirum, and benefited from the participation of Her Excellency Andreea Păstârnac, the Ambassador of Romania to the Kingdom of Belgium , along with representatives of cultural institutions, the diplomatic environment and the Dobrogean communities. Among the guests of the event were also Nicholas of Romania and Alina-Maria of Romania, their presence being highlighted by the organizers in order to support the heritage and promote the image of Romania in Europe.
The delegation and program dedicated to Dobrogea included, among others, representatives of the Constanța Museum of National History and Archaeology, destination management organizations, heritage and gastronomy promotion projects, as well as representatives of Dobrogea ethnic communities.
For OMD Mamaia–Constanța, participation in the Romanian Autumn Salon continues the direction of promoting the destination externally by associating tourism with local heritage and culture. The presence in Brussels also provided the framework to bring to an international audience a part of the lesser-known history of the Mamaia and Constanța resorts and to strengthen the dialogue with Romanians in Belgium.
