Black Sea tourism operators are preparing for the opening of the 2022 summer season, with over 100 accommodation units ready to welcome their guests on the May 1st weekend, according to data centralized by the tour operator Litoralulromanesc.ro, the no. 1 in this holiday segment. According to reservations made so far, the occupancy rate of hotels that have launched special packages for the May 1st mini-vacation is, on average, 80%, with the resorts of Mamaia and Costinesti set to be the busiest at the end of this week.

Mamaia and Costinești, the favorite resorts this year

"The events announced on the seaside , as well as the fact that club performances will be, after two years of the pandemic, without restrictions, best explain tourists' preferences this year in terms of accommodation because the location of the hotel mattered a lot when booking. Thus, we see that in the northern area of the Mamaia resort , the pole of seaside fun , hotels are almost full compared to the south of the resort, where there is an occupancy rate of approximately 60%. Also, hotels in Costinesti are approaching an occupancy rate of 90%, in the context in which the first edition of the <<Beach, Please>> Festival dedicated to hip-hop & trap music will take place there," says Ionuț Nedea, CEO of Litoralulromanesc.ro.

As for the rates, they start from 113 lei/night for two people, an amount that covers only accommodation, without meals or other services, at a 3-star hotel in Eforie Nord. In other news, preparations for the May 1st mini-vacation are in the final stages, and tourism operators promise that the start of the summer season will be in the best conditions. Beach bars have been set up on the beaches and umbrellas and sun loungers have been installed. The 2022 season brings a lot of news in the “Accommodation ” chapter in the Romanian Black Sea resorts , from newly built hotels to interior renovations and redecorations.

"The owners and managers of hotels on our coast have understood that the preferences of tourists and the criteria according to which they choose accommodation have changed in recent years. The quality of services, as well as comfort and cleanliness, come first, with Romanians being willing to pay more, but also to receive a complex package. Therefore, investments have been made in creating playgrounds for children, recreation areas, spas, etc. In addition, not only have the accommodation conditions in older hotels been improved, taken over by new investors who renovated them, but new accommodation units have also appeared," adds the representative of Litoralulromanesc.ro.

For example, in the Eforie Nord resort, the Amaris 3* ApartHotel was inaugurated this year. Also in Eforie Nord, Hotel Belvedere was renovated and reclassified to 4 stars, Hotel Union added a new building, classified to 4 stars, which includes a swimming pool and spa center, Hotel Bacolux Koralio was renovated and reclassified to 4 stars. In the Mamaia resort, the Unirea Hotel has been renovated and reclassified to 3 stars.
